BAFTA 2022 Film Awards: Tom Hiddleston curls up with his girlfriend Zawe Ashton, who dazzles in a pink dress

Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton put on a beloved show at this year’s BAFTA 2022 Film Awards on Sunday.

The actor, 40, and his actress girlfriend, 37, pulled out all the stops as they lined up for the event.

Tom looked devilishly handsome in a black blazer and trousers as he posed holding hands with Zawe.

He paired the suit with a white shirt and completed his look with a black bow tie and white pocket square.

Zawe looked effortlessly stunning in a flowy pink floor-length dress with an attached cape for added drama.

Her brunette tresses were slicked back and styled sleek while she added a touch of sparkle to her look with a pair of diamond earrings.

Zawe and Tom confirmed their romance during a steamy PDA-filled vacation to the beach in Ibiza last September, before making their red carpet debut together at the Tony Awards in New York City later that month.

Dune dominated the British Academy Film Awards, held at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday night, while The Power Of The Dog took home Best Picture.

The sci-fi film swept through the panel when it won five of its 11 nominations for the 75th Diversity Triumphant Ceremony, with Lashana Lynch taking home the Rising Star, deaf actor Troy Kotsur receiving Supporting Actor and West Side Story’s Ariana Debose the supporting actress accepted Gong.

Joanna Scanlan, 60, won the Lead Actor Award for her performance in the Aleem Khan-directed drama After Love and Will Smith, 53, won the Lead Actor Gong for her role in King Richard.

The politically charged show returned after a two-year delay, with host Rebel Wilson showing Vladmir Putin the middle finger, while many of the stars wore black and Ukrainian ribbons as a show of solidarity.

Dune was awarded Special Visual Effects, Sound, Production Design, Cinematography and Original Score.

The first of a two-part adaptation of the 1965 science fiction novel by Frank Herbert, directed by Denis Villeneuve, won the Best Cinematography Award from Naomi Campbell and Ru-Paul.

Hans Zimmer was again recognized in the Original Score category after battling Being The Ricardos, Don’t Look Up, The French Dispatch and The Power of the Dog.

However, Dune lost the Best Picture award to the dark western The Power of the Dog. Director Jane Campion was unable to attend the ceremony, so producer Tanya Seghatchian attended on her behalf.

Leading actress Joanna admitted she was blown away by her success as soon as she took the stage.

She said, “Oh come on! Some stories have surprising endings, don’t they?’

Joanna faced competition from Lady Gaga, Alana Haim, Emilia Jones, Tessa Thompson and Renate Reinsve for the award.

But she explained onstage that the film – which tells the story of a widow who discovers her late husband’s secret family – was made with “blood, sweat and tears”.

Earlier in the night, Will Smith won the Lead Actor Gong for his role in King Richard. The Hollywood star played the role of Richard Williams – the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams – in the hit film.

The win marked the first BAFTA win of Will’s career, but he was unable to attend the ceremony in London.

Following organizers’ vows to increase diversity among the nominated stars, figures such as Bond star Lashana took the stage at the ceremony and praised her working-class heritage after winning the Rising Star award.

The 34-year-old actress played MI6 agent Nomi in James Bond’s No Time To Die.

She said: “Thank you to everyone who voted. Wow, thank you to everyone involved in No Time To Die, my career, my parents, my grandparents who were from Jamaica – the Windrush generation. I am grateful to them for my existence.

Proud to come from a working class family, I was taught a lot about failure, about no’s and how to celebrate yes. Now I can celebrate, I never expected it.

“I want to thank the women who taught me how to function as a black woman in this industry. Thank you for laying the foundation for people like me. I appreciate it. Thanks. ‘
