Colin Farrell reveals his son was ‘horrified’ to see him in The Batman’s Penguin prosthetic

Colin Farrell hilariously reveals his son was “absolutely horrified” to see him in prosthetics as Batman’s penguin – before admitting the costume allowed him to go into Starbucks incognito

Colin Farrell has revealed his son was “devastated” at the sight of his transformation into a penguin during the production of The Batman.

The 45-year-old actor became a superhero villain with the help of prosthetics and even successfully went incognito on trips to Starbucks in costume.

He hilariously told Extra: “When my child first saw me, he was terrified. I have it on an iPhone. He was horrified.’

The Golden Globe winner shares 18-year-old James with his ex-girlfriend Kim Bordenave, and 12-year-old Henry with his ex Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.

He continued to tell Collider, “I went to Starbucks and ordered an all-un-Oswald drink, an oatmilk latte with two stevia sweeteners.

“I got a few stars but only because it’s such an imposing look.”

It comes after he claimed to have fought “valiantly” for The Penguin – aka Oswald Cobblepot – to smoke a cigar in the blockbuster before the studio shot him down.

In an interview for Jake’s Takes, the Irish actor revealed that he advocated Penguin appearing in his signature top hat, monocle and cigarette.

“I fought bravely for a cigar,” he said, but ultimately the studio decided against it.

“Big studios make big decisions about things like having cigarettes in movies,” he explained.

He continued: “I fought bravely for a cigar. At one point I said, ‘I can have it unlit! Just let me have it unlit.”

‘They said, ‘No.’ [As if] A bunch of 12-year-olds will start smoking Cuban cigars because [the Penguin is smoking cigars in a movie]’ remarked Farrell.

Moviegoers looking forward to seeing the film in theaters starting March 4th should brace themselves as it will be the longest film in the franchise ever at almost three hours.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the highly anticipated comic film will run for two hours and 55 minutes, including eight minutes of credits.

Directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz and Paul Dano, The Batman is slated to hit theaters March 4.
