French press savage Emiliano Martinez dubbing him the ‘most hated Argentine’ and a ‘born provocateur’ after his World Cup final antics and THAT Kylian Mbappe doll

The French press have slammed Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez for his behavior following their World Cup triumph, calling him ‘the most hated Argentina’ among other insults.
The Aston Villa keeper has not won himself many fans in France following his actions during Argentina’s winning penalty shoot-out over Les Bleus, as well as his taunts towards hat-trick hero Kylian Mbappe in the aftermath of the game.
Martinez’s penalty shoot-out antics helped guide Argentina to their third World Cup crown as he saved a penalty from Kingsley Coman.
The French press have slammed Emiliano Martinez for his behavior since their World Cup win
The Villa keeper played mind games with Aurelien Tchouameni as he threw the ball away from the French midfielder before the Real Madrid youngster struck his penalty wide.
Then, after winning the Golden Glove award, he was pictured making a rude gesture with the gong as he held it over his private parts.
Martinez has since explained that he did it because French fans were booing him during Argentina’s thrilling final win.
The Aston Villa keeper also brutally mocked Mbappe during Argentina’s dressing room celebrations by calling for a minute’s silence for the French striker.
It came even though the 30-year-old was seen as one of the first people to console Mbappe following France’s gut wrenching defeat.
Martinez pulled off several tricks in the shootout to try and unsettle the French players
Martinez continued to taunt Mbappe by holding a baby doll with the French star’s face on it during Argentina’s World Cup victory parade around Buenos Aires yesterday.
To make matters worse, Martinez in fact held the Mbappe doll aloft while stood next to the 24-year-old’s PSG team-mate Lionel Messi as the pair celebrated Argentina’s penalty shootout win against France.
And the French press have emphasized their dislike of Martinez, with French outlet TF1 labeling him ‘the most hated Argentine’, while his cruel gesture after picking up his Golden Glove award was labeled as disrespectful and ‘indecent’.
Having already called his behavior ‘insulting’ and being considered to ‘shadow his World Cup, Karl Olive – a French congressman – argued FIFA should strip the Argentinian keeper of his award for the incidents.

TF1 concluded by labeling Martinez: ‘An agitator who has become his own caricature.’
Meanwhile, L’Equipe described the goalkeeper as a ‘specialist in provocation’ and a ‘born provocateur’.
The criticism from the French press came after 2018 French World Cup winner Adil Rami had called Martinez ‘the most hated man in football’.
Martinez has been known for his antics over the past few years – with the stopper receiving the wrath of the Netherlands for his behavior in their shootout victory in the quarter-final – while he also performed similar tricks in Argentina’s semi-final spot kick victory over Colombia in the 2021 Copa America.
