Eternals’ Kit Harington offers a disappointing Dane Whitman update

After appearing as Sersi’s (Gemma Chan) boyfriend in Marvel’s eternalHer fans are eagerly awaiting Kit Harington’s next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Harington played Dane Whitman and was teased in the end credits of eternal returning as the superhero Black Knight in future films.

Talking to Zoe Ball on the BBC The Zoe Ball Breakfast ShowHarrington gave us an update on when that might happen – but be warned, it’s not as exciting as it seems.

Zoe Ball asked: “I have to ask you because the fans have been asking what is the future of Dane Whitman aka Black Knight? Anything else going on? Any things planned in the journal?”

Unfortunately the game of Thrones The actor didn’t divulge much information, saying, “No, not that I know of.”

“It sounds like a very political response, but I mean, it’s exciting to me because the last movie, like everyone who saw it, kind of sparked an idea that I could move on.”

“Well, I hope … But I think when you answer questions about these things, people point at you and say ‘liar,’ like you know more than other people,” he said.

He “actually has no idea,” he says with a laugh, adding that he’s “just waiting for a call.”

In eternal, Harington spends much of the film following the guidelines and watching Sersi attempt to save the world from the Celestials while learning about her past in the process.

In a post-credits scene, they inspect the Ebony Blade, which comics fans will know leads to his transformation into the Black Knight, but there’s no news from Marvel on how they’ll be telling this story.

In November, Harington previously said he’s “trying to live in the present” and isn’t considering whether they’ll appear in the MCU anytime soon.

Harington is currently taking a break from film and television acting to focus on the stage. He will play the main role Henry V at the Donmar Warehouse, beginning later this month and running through April 9th.
