MCU’s Clark Gregg reacts to The Batman’s Gil Colson

Actor Clark Gregg played Agent Phil Coulson on both the film and television screens, and the actor is now spotting a resemblance in The Batman.

Agents of SHIELD Actor Clark Gregg saw The Batmanand pointed out a striking resemblance.

From 2008 to 2020, Gregg portrayed agent Phillip J. “Phil” Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After seeing the new movie based on DC Comics’ Crusaders, they posted a simple message on Twitter: “Gil Colson?” The question refers to the role of actor Peter Sarsgaard The Batman as Gotham City District Attorney Gil Coulson.

While the two names may be very similar, the actors’ respective characters couldn’t be more different. Sarsgaard usually plays a supporting role The Batman as a district attorney, while Gregg rose from being a supporting actor in films like iron man to star in his own series. There is another similarity that the two share, but it contains spoilers for both The Batman and The Avengers (2012).


The Batman It’s expected to follow a similar path to the MCU as the spinoff series is currently in the works and is set to be set in the same universe as the film. Although its current canon status remains in question, the majority of Agents of SHIELD followed the MCU timeline and referenced the events of several films such as Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron and more. As for The Batmanone planned series is set to focus on Arkham Asylum, while another starring Colin Farrell’s Penguin has gotten a series commission for HBO Max.

Agents of SHIELD It recently made headlines when the show and all of Netflix’s former Marvel series made the leap from the streaming platform to Disney+. Though characters like Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin have made their way into the MCU, portrayed by their original Netflix actors, Gregg has yet to return to the main film universe. The last cinema adventure in which the character took part was Captain Marvel in 2019, although the film was made years before the first iron man Movie.

Gregg isn’t the only one giving The Batman There is some credit, however, with fans praising the latest DC blockbuster, with some even going so far as to say it’s the greatest Batman film yet. The film continues to climb the box office charts, surpassing the $300 million mark domestically at the time of writing. How high the film’s performance is remains to be seen.


The Batman is currently playing in cinemas only, while the entirety Agents of SHIELD can be streamed on Disney+.
