Young Sheldon Season 5 will return after a two-week hiatus, with CBS releasing a new trailer showing Sheldon bumping into Ming-Na Wen.
A new Young Sheldon The Season 5 teaser trailer shows Sheldon (Iain Armitage) taking on guest star Ming-Na Wen. The miracle and war of stars Actress who recently starred Boba Fett’s book as Fennec Shand, joins The big Bang Theory franchise as Dr. Carol Lee – Director of Experimental Cosmology at East Texas Tech. And somehow the socially inept genius clashes with her.
Young Sheldon Season 5 premiered later than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic, and despite this, fans seem to be enjoying where the show’s story is going. Rather than just focusing on its titular character, CBS has more balanced storytelling this year, giving each member of Sheldon’s family their own respective arcs, most notably George’s (Lance Barber) budding affair with Brenda (Melissa Peterman). As the sitcom enters its final stages in Season 5, the spotlight gradually shifts back to their titular character as they have new experiences as a college student.
After a two-week hiatus to make way for the Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, Young Sheldon Season 5 finally returns with a brand new episode. The outing, titled A Free Scratcher and Feminine Wiles, will see Sheldon engage in a mysterious conflict with Lee. Watch the clip shared by TV promos on YouTube below:

According to the Young Sheldon In the episode synopsis, Lee will be one of the new teachers in the lab. As seen in the promo, Sheldon meets her there with Dr. Linkletter (Ed Begley Jr.) and Dr. Sturgis (Wallace Shawn), who is interestingly back at East Texas Tech after a while. Elsewhere, Mary (Zoe Perry) gets a free lottery ticket, although not much more is revealed about this particular narrative. Either way, it’s something the family could use considering George is currently on the verge of being fired as coach of the Medford High School football team. Whether he will be booted out is uncertain. It wasn’t something Sheldon talked about The big Bang Theorybut it could ultimately lead to George becoming the bad father he was supposed to be.
Young Sheldon has been criticized for consistently contradicting established continuity The big Bang Theory. But lately it’s gotten better, even offering fun backstories on Sheldon’s weirdest quirks and practices. That being said, you have to be careful not to overdo your character as he was arguably rude at the start of the original sitcom. Otherwise, there won’t be a smooth narrative transition between shows, which is something CBS may be trying to do with the prequel, which is now set to run at least through Season 7.
