The internet is rooting for the IndiGo employee for standing up to the passenger. People reprimanded the flier for his absolutely disgusting behavior towards the crew member. #IndiGo has been furiously trending on Twitter after the video emerged on social media on December 21.

So, what actually happened on the Istanbul-Delhi flight that has now garnered the nation’s attention?

A video that went viral on social media shows an air hostess and passenger getting into a heated argument. The chatter on social media suggests the fight happened over the non-availability of hot meals for passengers who hadn’t booked in advance. The viral video shows the passenger referring to the crew member as a ‘servant’ and that is when she lost her cool. Despite trying to deal with him respectfully and telling him that he shouldn’t speak to the crew in such an uncouth manner, he did not budget.

The viral video, which appears to have been recorded by a passenger on the same flight, gained traction on social media overnight. Support started pouring in for the employee who stood up for what was right.

A Twitter user named Gurpreet Singh Hans had shared the clip but later took it down. As seen in the video, one of the cabin crew members was serving food to passengers when the aforementioned incident took place.

IndiGo has responded to the incident and released a statement that reads, “We are aware of the incident that took place on flight 6E 12 from Istanbul to Delhi on December 16, 2022. The issue was related to meals chosen by certain passengers traveling via a codeshare connection. IndiGo is cognizant of the needs of its customers and it is our constant endeavor to provide a courteous and hassle-free experience to our customers. We are looking into the incident and would like to assure that customers’ comfort has always been our top priority. We are committed to providing the best experience at all times.”
