The Doctor Strange 2 boss confirms the theory about the character’s return

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will not have confirmed a reunion of Stephen Strange and Christine Palmer, producer of Marvel Studios.

Although a new trailer for Doctor Strange 2 offered a glimpse of Rachel McAdams’ character in a wedding dress, we now know for sure that waiting for her down the aisle isn’t weird.

Mind you, it’s not exactly surprising that Strange’s priorities lie elsewhere.

Amid rumors that love might be a possibility for Benedict Cumberbatch’s superhero, producer Charlie Palmer insisted the former couple “sadly aren’t back together.”

“As we saw at the end Doctor Strangehe chose to stay in the Sanctum, which means they can’t satisfy his selfish desires,” Palmer explained (via Comicbook.com).

“He loved staying with Christine at the end of this film, but he did the difficult part. He said, ‘No. I will be a superhero and defend our reality. I have to keep going.’”

As well as battling the havoc the multiverse has wreaked, Doctor Strange could also spend part of the upcoming film overcoming heartbreak.

“Our film shows how he deals with the decisions he’s made,” added Palmer. “He might regret how things ended with Christine; he still carries a torch for her.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled for release on May 5, 2022.
